Assembles, stores, and distributes literature about mental illness and NAMI's programs for mitigating its effects. Sets up and staffs a literature table at public events.
Maintains lists of current and past members. Establishes programs to maintain current members, to regain past members, and to attract new members.
Monitors developments in legislative efforts to protect mentally ill people from unreasonable and unjust treatment under the Criminal Code. Develops programs through which NAMI Huntington can participate in those efforts.
Establishes membership on various boards and committees that monitor developments in the mental health system and which advise government officials on what programs need to be modified or expanded.
Determines what issues are amenable to politcal pressure and establishes a course of action to bring about the required pressure. Coordinates the actions of this organization with those of other concerned groups.
